The Needles Meadow Original Painting

Wildflower meadows burst with color against the dramatic peaks of the Needle Mountains in this 24" x 30" acrylic painting. Created en plein air near Black Diamond Lodge on Highway 550 north of Durango, the work captures the fleeting alpine summer when snowmelt feeds these high-elevation blooms. Part of the Snow Melt exhibition, this 2025 piece celebrates the delicate relationship between mountain seasons and wildflower cycles.
