Telluride and Wildflowers Original Painting

Telluride and Wildflowers is an original acrylic painting inspired by one of my favorite high-country combinations: big mountain peaks and a foreground full of balsamroot. I started this piece en plein air in 2020, then brought it back to the studio to refine the details while keeping that on-location energy.

I love how the bright blooms pull you in first, then your eye travels back into the landscape and you start noticing the shapes and scale of the mountains. This one is for the person who’s always looking for wildflowers on the side of the trail, who plans trips around mountain towns, or who just wants a reminder of Colorado summer on their wall.
